tex-mex skillet supper

You might not think you can lose weight while on a diet which includes tex-mex skillet supper but it is possible. It is pivotal to not eat tex-mex skillet supper or other high calorie misc every day but in moderation.

As an example, I allow myself high calorie food one meal per week. I eat a healthy diet 6 days a week, say 1500 to 1600 calories each day, and then on the 7th day, I eat what I please - without going overboard of course.

I have been eating this way for the last few weeks and it has aided me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any vitamins or diet aids. I have just been careful of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I like one day per week.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat tex-mex food. Tex-Mex Skillet Supper

1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup uncooked regular rice
1/2 cup tomato catsup
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Tortilla chips (optional)

In large nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Add remaining ingredient except cheese and tortilla chips; mix well. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Remove skillet from heat; sprinkle beef mixture with cheese. Cover and let stand until cheese is melted. Serve with chips, if desired.

Yield 4 servings.
