You may not accept that you can lose weight while on a diet plan which includes taco stuffed bell peppers but it can happen. The key is to not eat taco stuffed bell peppers or other high calorie vegetable every day but in moderation.
This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one meal per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1500 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I want – without going crazy of course.
I have been using this method for the last 2 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any pills or diet food. I have just been careful of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day of the week.
I also feel it is helpful if you have some support when on a weight loss program and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have numerous tools to help you monitor your progress and attain your goals.
On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat southwestern food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating southwestern meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. 6 green bell peppers
1 (15 ounce) can tamales
1 (15 ounce) can chili with beans
4 ounces Cheddar cheese, divided
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup catsup
1 1/2 cups tortilla chips, crushed
Cut green bell peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Cut tamales into 1/4 inch slices. Combine tamales, chili, 1/2 cup cheese, onion and catsup. Fill the pepper halves. Place in an electric skillet and pour 1/4 inch hot water into the skillet. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Sprinkle remaining cheese over the peppers. Top with tortilla chips. Simmer, uncovered, 2 minutes, until cheese melts.
Makes 6 servings
