stuffed tomatoes

You may not believe you could lose weight while on a diet plan which includes stuffed tomatoes but it is achievable. It is pivotal to not eat stuffed tomatoes or other high calorie vegetables, sauerkraut every day but in moderation.

As an example, I allow myself these kinds of food one day per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet 6 days a week, say 1500 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I want – without going overboard of course.

I have been sticking to this diet for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise regime or taken any pills or diet aids. I have just been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I like one day per week.

On my one non diet day per week, I usually like to eat German & Austrian food. I never imagined I could lose 5 kilos while eating German & Austrian meals but am very glad to see it does work. If you feel like trying some German & Austrian food, I suggest you make stuffed tomatoes which is one of my most admired German & Austrian recipes.

Stuffed Tomatoes

4 beefsteak tomatoes
4 ounces German Camembert or Bavarian Brie
2 scallions
4 anchovy fillets
1 tablespoon capers
2 teaspoons caraway seeds
Salt and ground black pepper

Remove stalk from the top of each tomato. Slice off the bottom of each tomato. Remove core from the bottom of each tomato. Cut a slice from the rounded end of each tomato and scoop out the pulp and seeds with a small teaspoon. Strain out the seeds and use the pulp and juice for the filling.

Place anchovies in a little milk and let soak for about 5 minutes to remove salt. Rinse, pat dry and chop. If the capers are large, chop them roughly.

Chop scallions finely and mash with the cheese, capers, anchovies, caraway seeds, salt and pepper. Add reserved tomato juice and pulp and mix ingredients together thoroughly. Spoon the filling into the tomatoes and place them on serving plates. Top with the reserved tomatoes slices and serve chilled.

You can change the recipe to make it a little bit healthier or with fewer calories as this can help you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It did work for me and could help you to lose weight also.
