steak tacos

You might not think you could lose weight while on a eating plan which includes steak tacos but it is achievable. It is fundamental to not eat steak tacos or other high calorie tacos, tostado, tortilla every day but in moderation.

For instance, I allow myself high calorie food one day per week. I eat a low calorie diet for most of the week, say 1200 to 2000 calories each day, and then one day, I eat anything - within reason of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 6 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise routine or taken any supplements or diet drinks. I have just been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I like one day of the week.

On my one non diet day per week, I like to eat southwestern food. I never imagined I could lose 5 kilos while eating southwestern meals but am very happy to see it can happen. If you feel like trying some southwestern food, I advise you make steak tacos which is one of my most adored southwestern recipes.

Steak Tacos

1 pound sirloin steak, cooked and shredded or chopped
1 package taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
8 to 10 flour tortillas
1/4 cup sliced scallions
1/2 cup chopped tomato
2 cups shredded lettuce
2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese

In a large nonstick skillet, heat steak, tao seasoning mix and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.

Heat tortillas as directed on package. Spoon warm steak onto tortillas. Top with scallions, tomato, lettuce and cheese. Fold tortilla over filling.

You can adapt the recipe to make it quite a bit healthier or with not so many calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos easily. It worked for me and could help you to lose weight too.
