You might not accept that you could lose weight while on a diet plan which includes spareribs and cabbage – zeberka wieprzowena z kapusta but it can happen. It is fundamental to not eat spareribs and cabbage – zeberka wieprzowena z kapusta or other high calorie beef/pork/lamb/veal every day but in moderation.
For example, I allow myself these kinds of food one meal per week. I eat a low calorie diet for most of the week, say 1400 to 2000 calories a day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I want – within reason of course.
I have been eating this way for the last 6 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise habits or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have only been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I want one day a week.
On my one free day per week, I like to eat hungarian food. I never believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating hungarian meals but am very pleased to see it is possible. If you would like to try some hungarian food, I advise you make spareribs and cabbage – zeberka wieprzowena z kapusta which is one of my best loved hungarian recipes.
Serve with mashed or boiled potatoes.
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 1/2 pounds fresh pork spareribs, cut into 6 pieces
1 large onion, sliced
1 large carrot, sliced
2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1 bay leaf
2 cups water
1/2 cup vinegar
1 small head green cabbage, cut into 6 wedges
Freshly-ground pepper
Heat oil in Dutch oven until hot. Cook pork spareribs, a few pieces at a time, over medium heat until brown on all sides, about 15 minutes; drain fat. Add onion, carrot, bouillon, salt, caraway seed, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and the bay leaf. Pour water and vinegar over pork mixture. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Add cabbage; sprinkle with pepper. Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 45 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Arrange spareribs and vegetables on serving platter. Garnish with minced parsley if desired.
Yields 6 servings.
You can adapt the recipe to make it quite a bit healthier or with less calories as this can aid you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It worked for me and could assist you to lose weight too.
