south of the border coffee

You may not think it is possible to lose weight while on a eating plan which includes south of the border coffee but it is obtainable. It is fundamental to not eat south of the border coffee or other high calorie beverages every day but in moderation.

For instance, I allow myself rich food one day per week. I eat a healthy diet for most of the week, say 1400 to 1800 calories each day, and then on the 7th day, I eat what I please – without going overboard of course.

I have been eating this way for the last month and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have only been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I feel like one day a week.

I also think it makes things easier if you have a little support when on a weight loss program and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have several tools to help you monitor your progress and attain your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat mexican food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating mexican meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. South of the Border Coffee

This should be made with the cone-shaped raw sugar called piloncillo, but you may substitute dark brown sugar.

8 cups water
1/3 cup or 3 small cones piloncillo (panocha)
1/2 ounce baking chocolate, chopped
2 whole cloves
1 (2-inch piece stick cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 cup regular grind coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Heat water. Add piloncillo, chocolate, cloves and cinnamon stick. Bring to a full boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Stir in coffee or add coffee in a bouquet garni bag for easy removal. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.

Stir in vanilla extract. Strain through a double thickness of cheesecloth or, better yet, use a bouquet garni bag for the coffee, then just remove the bag of grounds. Serve immediately.
