You possibly will not think you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes pot roast but it is possible. The key is to not eat pot roast or other high calorie beef/pork/lamb/veal every day but in moderation.

As an example, I allow myself rich food one day per week. I eat a healthy diet for 6 days of the week, say 1200 to 2000 calories a day, and then one day, I eat what I please – within reason of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 4 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise routine or taken any vitamins or diet food. I have just been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day of the week.

On my one free day per week, I prefer to eat amish food. I never imagined I could lose 5 kilos while eating amish meals but am very happy to see it does work. If you would like to try some amish food, I advise you make pot roast which is one of my favourite amish recipes.

Pot Roast

3 pounds Swiss steak, trimmed of fat
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup coffee
2 bay leaves, crumbled
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
2 onions, sliced
Additional coffee and soy sauce, as needed

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Do not pound or flour the meat. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over high heat, then sear meat on both sides.

Meanwhile, in a large roasting pan, combine soy sauce, coffee, bay leaves, garlic, oregano and one of the sliced onions. Transfer the browned meat to the roasting pan. Top with the second sliced onion. Cover and bake for 3 1/2 to 4 hours, basting every hour with pan juices. If the liquid begins to boil away, add another cup of coffee and a splash of soy sauce. You may need to repeat this procedure; there should be quite a bit of liquid.

Cut the meat in thin slices and serve with pan juices.

You can adjust the recipe to make it a little bit healthier or with fewer calories as this can aid you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It did work for me and could aid you to lose weight also.
