You might not believe it is possible to lose weight while on a eating plan which includes poppy seed candy but it is possible. It is fundamental to not eat poppy seed candy or other high calorie desserts every day but in moderation.
As an example, I allow myself rich food one day per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet for 6 days of the week, say 1500 to 1800 calories a day, and then on the 7th day, I eat what I please – without going crazy of course.
I have been sticking to this diet for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any vitamins or diet food. I have just been conscious of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I like one day of the week.
I also think it is helpful if you have some support when dieting and for that I signed up with the Biggest Loser club. They have numerous tools to show you how to monitor your progress and achieve your goals.
On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat middle eastern food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating middle eastern meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. 1 pound poppy seeds
2 cups honey
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
Have the poppy seeds ground for you when you buy them. If this is not possible, grind them in a food chopper or pound with a mortar and pestle. Cook together the honey and sugar until syrupy. Stir in the poppy seeds and cook until mixture is thick, about 20 minutes. Stir frequently. (Drop a little on a wet surface; if it doesn’t run, it is thick enough.) Stir in the nuts and ginger.
Moisten hands; pat out mixture onto wet board to thickness of about 1/2-inch. Let cool 5 minutes, then cut into diamonds or squares with a sharp knife. When knife sticks, dip into hot water. Cool completely and lift from board with a spatula.
