mojito

You might not think you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes mojito but it can happen. It is pivotal to not eat mojito or other high calorie drinks every day but in moderation.

For example, I allow myself rich food once per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet for most of the week, say 1400 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the 7th day, I eat what I please – without going crazy of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 4 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have simply been aware of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I like one day of the week.

I also find it helps to have some support when trying to lose weight and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have lots of tools to show you how to monitor your progress and attain your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat caribbean food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating caribbean meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. Mojito (Cuba)

This is a favorite in Cuba. Ernest Hemingway was particularly fond of it.

Juice of 1/2 lime
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 or 3 fresh mint leaves and 1 sprig mint, for garnish
Crushed ice
1 1/2 ounces white rum
Club soda

Stir lime juice and sugar in a tall drink glass until the sugar dissolves. Add the mint leaves, crushed ice and rum, then stir. Top off the drink with club soda. Stir again, then garnish with the sprig of mint and serve.

Serves 1.
