You might not think you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes mexican lasagna but it can happen. The key is to not eat mexican lasagna or other high calorie pasta every day but in moderation.
For example, I allow myself rich food one meal per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1500 to 1800 calories a day, and then 1 day, I eat what I please – without going overboard of course.
I have been eating like this for the last 4 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise routine or taken any supplements or diet food. I have just been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I like one day per week.
On my one free day per week, I prefer to eat southwestern food. I never thought I could lose 5 kilos while eating southwestern meals but am very happy to see it can happen. If you want to try some southwestern food, I suggest you make mexican lasagna which is one of my most admired southwestern recipes.

This is the one I make all the time.
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
16 ounces tomatoes, chopped
2 cups cottage cheese
1 cup grated Monterey jack cheese with peppers
1 egg
10 to 12 corn tortillas
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
Shredded lettuce
1/2 cup chopped tomato
3 green onions chopped
1/4 cup sliced black olives
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Add spices and 16 ounces chopped tomatoes; heat thoroughly.
Cover bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with half of the corn tortillas. Pour beef mixture over tortillas and place rest of tortillas over the beef layer. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine the cottage cheese, Monterey Jack cheese and egg; pour over tortilla layer. Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and top in diagonal rows with Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, green onions and black olives. Serve hot.
You can change the recipe to make it a little bit healthier or with fewer calories as this can aid you to lose 5 kilos easily. It was successful for me and could help you to lose weight as well.
