mango preserves

You may not accept that it is possible to lose weight while on a diet which includes mango preserves but it can happen. The key is to not eat mango preserves or other high calorie fruits & vegetables every day but in moderation.

As an example, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one day per week. I eat a low calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1500 to 1600 calories a day, and then one day, I eat what I please – without going crazy of course.

I have been using this method for the last month and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise routine or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have simply been careful of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I want one day a week.

I also believe it helps to have some support when trying to lose weight and for that I signed up with the Biggest Loser club. They have numerous tools to show you how to monitor your progress and reach your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat caribbean food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating caribbean meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. Mango Preserves (Puerto Rico)

6 mangoes, peeled
4 cups water
4 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine the mangoes and water in a pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Remove the mangoes and measure 4 cups of the liquid, discarding the rest. Combine mangoes, the liquid, the sugar and the vanilla extract in the same pot and boil over moderate heat until the syrup thickens (222 degrees F on a candy thermometer). Allow to cool and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Will keep for 1 week refrigerated.

Serves 6.
