You may not believe it is possible to lose weight while on a diet plan which includes lime-ginger marinade but it is possible. It is pivotal to not eat lime-ginger marinade or other high calorie sauces & ingredients every day but in moderation.
This is what I do, I allow myself rich food one meal per week. I eat a low calorie diet 6 days a week, say 1200 to 1600 calories a day, and then on the 7th day, I eat what I please – without going overboard of course.
I have been eating like this for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any pills or diet aids. I have just been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day of the week.
On my one non diet day per week, I usually like to eat mexican food. I never believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating mexican meals but am very elated to see it can work. If you would like to try some mexican food, I propose you make lime-ginger marinade which is one of my most admired mexican recipes.
This is a very good marinade for turkey or chicken fajitas.
1/4 cup Mexican lime juice
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or fruit vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Stir all ingredients together in a non-reactive bowl.
Rinse 1 pound boneless turkey or chicken pieces, then pat dry. Pour marinade over, then cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes or until the next day, turning occasionally.
Turkey Fajitas
Cut 1 large bell pepper into eighths. Thinly slice 1 large red or white onion. Place onto a lightly oiled 15 x 10-inch rimmed baking dish. Brush lightly with oil. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Lift turkey from marinade and arrange alongside pepper and onion, overlapping as little as possible. Return pan to the oven and bake, basting with marinade and turning often, until onion and pepper are tinged with brown and turkey is no longer pink in thickest part.
Thinly slice turkey, then divide turkey, pepper and onion among 4 warm flour tortillas. Roll up tortillas to enclose filling.
Serve with Mexican lime wedges.
You can alter the recipe to make it quite a bit healthier or with fewer calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It did work for me and could assist you to lose weight also.
