You may not accept that you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes kari ayam but it is feasible. It is fundamental to not eat kari ayam or other high calorie poultry every day but in moderation.

This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one meal per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet for 6 days of the week, say 1500 to 2000 calories per day, and then one day, I eat what I please – without going crazy of course.

I have been using this method for the last 6 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise routine or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have only been aware of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I want one day of the week.

I also find it is helpful if you have professional support when trying to lose weight and for that I registered with the Biggest Loser club. They have many tools to help you monitor your progress and attain your goals.

Kari Ayam (Chicken Curry

1 whole chicken, cut into 18 pieces
1 cup coconut milk
1 1/2 tablespoons curry powder
2 cardamom, crushed
1/2 large onion, sliced
3 cloves
1 (1/2-inch) piece cinnamon stick
1/2 large onion, blended with 2 cloves
    garlic, minced and 1/2-inch ginger, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
2 tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup oil
2 potatoes, cut into eighths

Heat oil in a pot. Fry sliced onion, garlic and ginger until brown. Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon stick. Add curry powder and the blended ingredients and stir until color changes. Add 1 cup of water and keep stirring. Add chicken and cover the pot. Cook for about 10 minutes.

Add potatoes and cook until the potatoes are tender. Add coconut milk and stir. Let it boil for a while. Add tomatoes and boil for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
