You may not accept that you can lose weight while on a diet which includes jicama and orange salad (pico de gallo naranjas) but it is possible. The key is to not eat jicama and orange salad (pico de gallo naranjas) or other high calorie vegetables & salads every day but in moderation.
For instance, I allow myself high calorie food once per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1400 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the last day, I eat anything – without going overboard of course.
I have been sticking to this diet for the last 4 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise regime or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have simply been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I want one day a week.
I also find it makes things easier if you have a little support when trying to lose weight and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have numerous tools to enable you to monitor your progress and achieve your goals.
On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat southwestern food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating southwestern meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. If you would like to try|want to try|feel like trying some southwestern food, I suggest|advise|propose you make jicama and orange salad (pico de gallo naranjas) which is one of my favourite|most admired|most adored|best loved southwestern recipes.
2 cup jicama, peeled and cubed
4 oranges, peeled, sectioned, and cut into chunks
4 scallions, chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
Juice from the salad
1 tablespoon Mexican lime juice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sour cream
Salt
Mix jicama, oranges, onions and cilantro and allow to chill for several hours.
Before serving, remove the salad from the refrigerator and bring it to cool room temperature. Pour off excess liquid into a small bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to combine them well, then toss with the salad. Add only a small amount of salt to the dressing since the salad is primarily sweet.
Combine the dressing with the salad at the last minute so that more juice does not drain.
