You may not think you can lose weight while on a diet which includes jam cake but it is feasible. It is crucial to not eat jam cake or other high calorie desserts every day but in moderation.

As an example, I allow myself rich food once per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet for 6 days of the week, say 1200 to 2000 calories a day, and then one day, I eat anything - without going crazy of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 4 weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise regime or taken any vitamins or diet aids. I have simply been careful of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I like one day per week.

I also find it helps to have professional support when dieting and for that I registered with the Biggest Loser club. They have lots of tools to help you monitor your progress and attain your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat amish food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating amish meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. Jam Cake

2 cups granulated sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter or more
2 cups blackberry jam
1 cup black walnuts (or nuts of choice)
1 cup raisins or more
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons cloves
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons allspice
2 teaspoons baking soda, dissolved in 1 cup buttermilk
6 eggs or more

Place all ingredients in a large pan and mix thoroughly. Bake in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan at 300 F degrees for about an hour. Pour icing over cake while cake is hot.

Icing
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup sweet milk
1/2 cup butter

Cook until about as thick as cream. Have icing cooked and ready to put on cake as soon as cake is done. Pour on while icing and cake are both hot.
