You might not think you could lose weight while on a diet which includes hanukkah fritters but it is obtainable. It is fundamental to not eat hanukkah fritters or other high calorie fritters, pastries, blintzes every day but in moderation.
This is what I do, I allow myself high calorie food one day per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet for 6 days of the week, say 1400 to 1600 calories per day, and then on the last day, I eat anything – without going overboard of course.
I have been using this method for the last few weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise regime or taken any vitamins or diet aids. I have just been aware of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I feel like one day of the week.
I also feel it helps to have a little support when on a weight loss program and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have several tools to show you how to monitor your progress and reach your goals.

1 cup cottage cheese
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)
Oil for frying
Combine cottage cheese and egg, then beat until well blended. Stir in milk.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, if desired. Add dry ingredients to wet ones and stir lightly.
Drop by tablespoonsful into a deep pot of hot oil. Fry until brown, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper towels. Serve immediately with jam and sour cream. Recipe may be doubled.
Yields about 10 fritters.
