You may not accept that it is possible to lose weight while on a diet plan which includes gulab jamun but it is obtainable. It is crucial to not eat gulab jamun or other high calorie misc every day but in moderation.

This is what I do, I allow myself rich food one day per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1400 to 2000 calories a day, and then on the last day, I eat anything – without going overboard of course.

I have been using this method for the last 6 weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise habits or taken any vitamins or diet aids. I have just been careful of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I feel like one day a week.

I also think it helps to have professional support when on a weight loss program and for that I registered with the Biggest Loser club. They have many tools to enable you to monitor your progress and achieve your goals.

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 pinches baking soda
3 tablespoons melted ghee
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
1 cup light brown sugar
3 cups water
7 cardamom pods
2 cups oil
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

In a large bowl, mix dry milk powder, flour, baking soda and ghee; using both hands, rub the mixture. Add the milk to the ingredients. Knead for another 5 minutes.

Roll dough into small balls.

To prepare syrup, boil the brown sugar and 3 cups water in a pot for half an hour over low medium temperature.

Add 2 cups oil to a small pot and fry the small balls until they are brown. After all balls are fried, reheat the sugar water. Add cardamom seed. As soon as it begins to boil, add the balls and simmer for 15 minutes.

When the balls absorb the syrup, turn off the heat. Remove the balls with slotted spoon. Stir the essence into the syrup and pour the mixture over the balls.
