You might not believe it is possible to lose weight while on a eating plan which includes greek style shrimp but it is obtainable. The key is to not eat greek style shrimp or other high calorie seafood every day but in moderation.
For instance, I allow myself high calorie food once per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1200 to 1800 calories a day, and then on the 7th day, I eat anything – without going overboard of course.
I have been using this method for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise plan or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have just been careful of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day per week.
On my one free day per week, I like to eat greek food. I never imagined I could lose 5 kilos while eating greek meals but am very glad to see it does work. If you want to try some greek food, I suggest you make greek style shrimp which is one of my most adored greek recipes.
Serve with salad of mixed greens, cucumber chunks, pitted black olives and sliced pimento.
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
4 small tomatoes, diced
1 1/2 pounds raw shrimp
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 clove garlic, mashed
1 green bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 cup feta cheese
In a saucepan, heat oil. Add garlic, onion and green pepper. Saut? 5 minutes. Add wine and tomatoes. Simmer until thick and pulpy. Stir in shrimp and cook 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until shrimp are pink and firm. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Pour into serving dishes and sprinkle with feta cheese.
Serve with rice, mixed with melted butter, ground cloves and pine nuts.
You can alter the recipe to make it a little healthier or with not so many calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It was successful for me and could help you to lose weight as well.
