You may not accept that you could lose weight while on a eating plan which includes greek goddess salad but it is obtainable. It is fundamental to not eat greek goddess salad or other high calorie salad every day but in moderation.
This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food once per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1200 to 2000 calories a day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I like – within reason of course.
I have been eating like this for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise regime or taken any supplements or diet aids. I have just been conscious of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day a week.
I also feel it is helpful if you have professional support when dieting and for that I joined the Biggest Loser club. They have numerous tools to help you monitor your progress and reach your goals.
On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat greek food. This makes a tangy, low-calorie lunch!
1 head romaine or green-leaf lettuce, rinsed and torn into bite-size pieces
1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)
2 medium tomatoes, cut into 8 wedges each
1/4 cup pitted, sliced olives, Kalamata or other oil-cured variety (optional)
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Dressing
2 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano or 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
To prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, combine lemon juice, oil, oregano, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
Dry lettuce thoroughly in a salad spinner or with a double layer of paper towels. Place in a large salad bowl. Add bell pepper, tomatoes, olives, and feta. Pour the dressing over the salad. Toss gently to coat. Divide the salad among serving plates and serve immediately.
Serves 4.
