This is what I do, I allow myself rich food one meal per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1200 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the 7th day, I eat whatever I like – without going overboard of course.
I have been sticking to this diet for the last 4 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise habits or taken any vitamins or diet drinks. I have only been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I feel like one day per week.
On my one non diet day per week, I tend to eat greek food. I never believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating greek meals but am very elated to see it is possible. If you want to try some greek food, I suggest you make greek chicken and rice (kotta pilafi) which is one of my favourite greek recipes.

6 chicken breasts (about 3 pounds)
1/4 cup butter
1 medium onion chopped fine
1 1/2 cups canned tomatoes
2 cups water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup uncooked rice
Dairy sour cream for garnish
Saut? chicken breasts in butter until golden brown. Add onion, tomato, water, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add rice and stir to mix evenly. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes longer or until the rice is tender. Add more water if necessary. Serve with a bowl of sour cream to be spooned over the rice.
Serves 6.
Additions called in from Bessie: Use one whole broiler (3 pounds) cut up into pieces. Saut? in 1/4 cup olive oil (not butter). Use 3 cups boiling water with the rice instead of 2 cups (you won’t have to add water later this way).
You can change the recipe to make it a little healthier or with fewer calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos quickly. It worked for me and could help you to lose weight too.
