german apple pie

You may not believe you could lose weight while on a eating plan which includes german apple pie but it is possible. It is fundamental to not eat german apple pie or other high calorie desserts every day but in moderation.

For example, I allow myself these kinds of food one meal per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1200 to 1800 calories each day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I like – without going crazy of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 6 weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise habits or taken any supplements or diet drinks. I have simply been conscious of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I feel like one day a week.

On my one non diet day per week, I prefer to eat German & Austrian food. I never imagined I could lose 5 kilos while eating German & Austrian meals but am very elated to see it is possible. If you feel like trying some German & Austrian food, I propose you make german apple pie which is one of my most adored German & Austrian recipes.

German Apple Pie

4 golden apples, finely chopped
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups sour cream
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix the apples, sugar, flour, sour cream, eggs and vanilla extract well. Put into a deep 9-inch pie shell. Bake at 450 degrees F for 30 minutes.

Mix the sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon together. After pie has been in the oven for 30 minutes, put this mixture on the top, then decrease oven temperature to 325 degrees F for 20 minutes.

NOTE: Use a frozen pie shell.

You can change the recipe to make it a little healthier or with less calories as this can help you to lose 5 kilos easily. It did work for me and could help you to lose weight as well.
