fish chowder

You might not accept that you could lose weight while on a diet which includes fish chowder but it is achievable. It is fundamental to not eat fish chowder or other high calorie soups every day but in moderation.

This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food once per week. I eat a healthy diet 6 days a week, say 1400 to 1600 calories per day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I like - without going crazy of course.

I have been sticking to this diet for the last 4 weeks and it has aided me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise regime or taken any supplements or diet aids. I have just been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I feel like one day a week.

I also find it makes things easier if you have some support when on a weight loss program and for that I signed up with the Biggest Loser club. They have many tools to help you monitor your progress and attain your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat jewish food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating jewish meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. Fish Chowder

1 1/2 cups diced raw potatoes
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups flaked leftover fish* (boiled, broiled or baked)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon flour
Minced parsley

Boil potatoes in water until tender. Add milk and fish, and season to taste. Blend flour in hot melted butter and thin into a smooth paste with 3 tablespoons of liquid from pot. Cook 5 minutes longer and serve. Garnish with minced parsley.

Serves 6.

* Canned salmon or tuna fish may be substituted.
