You possibly will not believe you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes fattigman but it is possible. The key is to not eat fattigman or other high calorie desserts every day but in moderation.

For example, I allow myself high calorie food one meal per week. I eat a low calorie diet 6 days a week, say 1400 to 2000 calories a day, and then one day, I eat what I please - within reason of course.

I have been eating this way for the last 6 weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise routine or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have just been aware of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day of the week.

On my one free day per week, I usually like to eat scandinavian food. I never thought I could lose 5 kilos while eating scandinavian meals but am very pleased to see it is possible. If you feel like trying some scandinavian food, I propose you make fattigman which is one of my favourite scandinavian recipes.

Fattigmann

This is a crisp Norwegian cookie.

6 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup light cream
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
Confectioners? sugar

Beat together egg yolks and salt until thick and light. Beat in light cream, sugar and butter. Sift together flour and nutmeg. Add to egg yolk mixture with lemon rind. Mix well, then chill 1 hour.

Roll out 1/4 of the dough at a time, keeping the remaining dough chilled. Roll 1/16 inch thick. Cut in 1 1/2-inch wide strips. Cut diagonally at 4-inch intervals. Make 1 inch slit lengthwise in center of each piece. Slip one end through the slit. Fry a few at a time in deep fat (350 degrees F) for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden. Remove from fat with a slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. Store in an airtight container.

Makes 6 dozen.

You can vary the recipe to make it quite a bit healthier or with fewer calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos rapidly. It was successful for me and could assist you to lose weight too.
