creole rice salad

You may not believe you can lose weight while on a diet which includes creole rice salad but it is possible. It is fundamental to not eat creole rice salad or other high calorie potatoes, rice, starches every day but in moderation.

This is what I do, I allow myself these kinds of food once per week. I eat a low calorie diet for most of the week, say 1400 to 1800 calories each day, and then on the 7th day, I eat whatever I want - without going crazy of course.

I have been using this method for the last few weeks and it has enabled me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise plan or taken any vitamins or diet aids. I have only been careful of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I want one day a week.

On my one non diet day per week, I like to eat cajun food. I never believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating cajun meals but am very elated to see it can happen. If you feel like trying some cajun food, I propose you make creole rice salad which is one of my most adored cajun recipes.

Creole Rice Salad

OK, OK…….so you’re tired of the same old pasta salads. How about a dish I will bet hasn’t been seen too often at your BBQ parties………

3 cups cooked rice, cooled to room temp
1/2 cup celery, minced fine
1/4 cup green pepper, minced fine
1 tablespoon parsley, fresh, minced fine
3 tablespoons green onion, minced fine
1/2 cup yellow onion, minced fine
1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
1/4 cup pimento-stuffed green olives, sliced
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Creole mustard, or brown mustard
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup pickled banana peppers, minced fine
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped coarsely

Combine all the ingredients and toss to mix well. Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve chilled.

You can adapt the recipe to make it a little healthier or with not so many calories as this can assist you to lose 5 kilos rapidly. It was successful for me and could aid you to lose weight also.
