You may not believe you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes cottage pie but it can happen. It is crucial to not eat cottage pie or other high calorie misc every day but in moderation.
This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one meal per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for 6 days of the week, say 1200 to 1800 calories per day, and then on the 7th day, I eat anything – within reason of course.
I have been using this method for the last month and it has aided me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise regime or taken any pills or diet drinks. I have just been aware of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I want one day a week.
On my one day off per week, I tend to eat irish food. I never thought I could lose 5 kilos while eating irish meals but am very elated to see it can work. If you feel like trying some irish food, I propose you make cottage pie which is one of my favourite irish recipes.
6 to 8 servings
2 pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon oil
2 onions, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup beef stock or bouillon
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon sage
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt and pepper
5 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 tablespoon butter or bacon fat
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Brown the beef in oil. Remove from pan and set aside.
Drain most of the accumulated fat from the pan. Saut? onions until tender, and then add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add broth and stir in herbs and seasonings. Return brown meat to skillet and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
Transfer all ingredients to an ovenproof casserole. Top with mashed potatoes (scoring them with a fork.) Dot with butter and bake uncovered in 375 degree F oven for 30-40 minutes.
You can vary the recipe to make it a little bit healthier or with not so many calories as this can help you to lose 5 kilos easily. It was successful for me and could assist you to lose weight too.
