chicken kabobs

You might not accept that it is possible to lose weight while on a eating plan which includes chicken kabobs but it is feasible. It is fundamental to not eat chicken kabobs or other high calorie poultry every day but in moderation.

For instance, I allow myself moderately high calorie food once per week. I eat a healthy diet for 6 days of the week, say 1400 to 1600 calories each day, and then on the last day, I eat anything – without going crazy of course.

I have been sticking to this diet for the last few weeks and it has aided me to lose 5 kilos. I have not increased my exercise plan or taken any supplements or diet drinks. I have simply been conscious of what I eat most days of the week and then eat whatever I feel like one day a week.

I also feel it makes things easier if you have professional support when on a weight loss program and for that I signed up with the Biggest Loser club. They have several tools to enable you to monitor your progress and achieve your goals.

Chicken Kabobs (Sat? Ajam)

This features the Indonesian combination of spicy-hot and sweet. Serve with Peanut Sauce.

2 large whole chicken breasts (about 2 pound)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed

Remove bones and skin from chicken breasts. Cut chicken into 3/4-inch pieces. It is easier to cut while partially frozen. Mix chicken, soy sauce, oil, brown sugar, ginger and garlic in glass bowl. Cover and refrigerate, stirring occasionally, at least 2 hours.

Remove chicken from marinade; reserve marinade. Thread 4 or 5 chicken pieces on each of 14 to 16 bamboo skewers. Brush chicken with reserved marinade. Set oven to broil or 550 degrees F. Broil skewers with tops about 4 inches from heat for 4 to 5 minutes; turn. Brush with marinade. Broil until chicken is done, 4 to 5 minutes longer.
