cajun seafood and noodles

You might not believe you could lose weight while on a diet which includes cajun seafood and noodles but it is obtainable. It is fundamental to not eat cajun seafood and noodles or other high calorie seafood every day but in moderation.

This is what I do, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one day per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1400 to 1800 calories each day, and then on the 7th day, I eat whatever I like - without going crazy of course.

I have been sticking to this diet for the last month and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not accelerated my exercise regime or taken any supplements or diet food. I have just been aware of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I feel like one day of the week.

On my one non diet day per week, I like to eat cajun food. I never believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating cajun meals but am very glad to see it does work. If you feel like trying some cajun food, I propose you make cajun seafood and noodles which is one of my best loved cajun recipes.

Cajun Seafood and Noodles

6 ounces uncooked medium noodles (about 3 cup)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper (about 1 medium)
1/2 cup chopped onion (about 1 medium)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 (16 ounce) can whole tomatoes (undrained)
1 (10 ounce) package frozen cut okra, thawed
1 (6 ounce) package frozen cooked small shrimp, thawed and drained
1 (6 ounce) package frozen crabmeat, thawed, drained and cartilage removed

Cook noodles as directed on package; drain. Heat oil in 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook bell pepper, onion, parsley, red pepper, pepper and garlic in oil 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in flour and tomatoes; break up tomatoes. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, until mixture thickens and boils. Stir in okra, shrimp and crabmeat. Cook uncovered 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over noodles.

Makes 6 servings.

You can adapt the recipe to make it a little healthier or with less calories as this can help you to lose 5 kilos easily. It did work for me and could assist you to lose weight as well.
