avocado and tomato salad

You might not believe you could lose weight while on a diet plan which includes avocado and tomato salad but it is achievable. It is crucial to not eat avocado and tomato salad or other high calorie vegetables & salads every day but in moderation.

For example, I allow myself moderately high calorie food one day per week. I eat a reduced calorie diet for most of the week, say 1200 to 2000 calories a day, and then 1 day, I eat whatever I like – without going overboard of course.

I have been eating this way for the last few weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise regime or taken any vitamins or diet drinks. I have simply been careful of what I eat on most days and then eat whatever I like one day a week.

Avocado and Tomato Salad (Ensalada de Guacamole)

6 slices bacon
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 drops red pepper sauce
2 medium avocados, peeled and cubed
2 medium tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 small onion, chopped
Salad greens

Fry bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Mix oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and red pepper sauce; pour over avocados. Toss. Stir in bacon, tomatoes and onion. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours. Just before serving, place on salad greens with slotted spoon.

Yields 4 to 6 servings.
