You possibly will not think you can lose weight while on a eating plan which includes apple baba - yablochnaya baba but it is possible. The key is to not eat apple baba - yablochnaya baba or other high calorie desserts every day but in moderation.

For example, I allow myself rich food one day per week. I eat a calorie controlled diet 6 days a week, say 1500 to 2000 calories a day, and then on the last day, I eat whatever I want - within moderation of course.

I have been using this method for the last 6 weeks and it has helped me to lose 5 kilos. I have not changed my exercise regime or taken any supplements or diet food. I have only been conscious of what I eat 6 days per week and then eat whatever I like one day a week.

I also find it makes things easier if you have some support when trying to lose weight and for that I registered with the Biggest Loser club. They have lots of tools to show you how to monitor your progress and reach your goals.

On my one day off|non diet day|free day per week, I like|prefer|tend|usually like to eat hungarian food. I never imagined|thought|believed I could lose 5 kilos while eating hungarian meals but am very pleased|happy|glad|elated to see it is possible|does work|can work|can happen. Apple Baba (Yablochnaya Baba)

4 tart apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled,
    cored, quartered and thinly sliced crosswise
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Confectioners’ sugar for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10-inch tube pan.

Place the apples in a large bowl, sprinkle with 1/4 cup of the sugar and the cinnamon and set aside.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and the remaining 2 cups of sugar with an electric mixture until pale yellow and thick. Gradually beat in the oil, orange juice and vanilla extract.

Sift together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add it to the egg mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon. You will have the consistency of thick honey. Fold the apples into the batter, making sure they are well distributed. Pour the apple batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a rubber spatula. Bake until the top is well browned and splitting, about 1 1/2 hours.

Invert the baba onto a rack and cool. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar just before serving.

Serves 8 to 10.
